The Awesome Landscape of Net Bingo! Bingo in Oklahoma
Nov 192022

A lot has been reported in the papers recently concerning the bingo industry being hit because of the smoking ban in England. Conditions have become so poor that in Scotland the Bingo industry has asked for big tax cuts to help keep the businesses afloat. However will the web adaptation of this classic game provide a salvation, or will it in no way compare to its land based equivalent?

Bingo is an classic game usually played by the "blue haired" generation. However the game lately had undergone a recent return in appeal with younger people deciding to hit the bingo halls instead of the clubs on a Friday night. This is all about to get flipped on its head with the enacting of the smoking ban all over United Kingdom.

Players will no longer be able to puff on cigarettes whilst dabbing numbers. From the summer of ‘07 every public location will not be permitted to allow smoking in their venues and this includes Bingo parlors, one of the most favorite areas where people enjoy smoking.

The results of the anti smoking law can already be observed in Scotland where smoking is already not allowed in the bingo parlours. Profits have plunged and the business is absolutely fighting for its life. But where did the players go? Surely they haven’t forgotten this established game?

The answer is online. Gamblers realize that they can bet on bingo from their computer at the same time enjoying a drink and cig and still have a chance at big jackpots. This is a recent anomaly and has happened almost perfectly with the anti smoking law.

Of course gambling on on the net is unlikely to replace the communal part of heading down to the bingo parlour, but for a group of players the law has left many bingo players with little choice.
