Much has been written in the papers not long ago concerning the bingo industry struggling as a consequence of the smoking ban in the UK. Things have become so poor that in Scotland the Bingo industry has requested huge aid to help keep the industry afloat. However does the net version of this classic game offer a salvation, or might it in no way compare to its bricks and mortar opposite?
Bingo has been an established game generally enjoyed by the "blue rinse" generation. In any case the game of late had undergone a recent return in appeal with younger men and women opting to visit the bingo parlors in place of the clubs on a Friday night. This is all about to be destroyed with the legislating of the anti cigarette law all over Britain.
No more will gamblers be permitted to smoke at the same time dabbing numbers. Beginning in the summer of ‘07 every public area will not be allowed to permit cigarettes in their venues and this includes Bingo parlors, one of the most common areas where people enjoy smoking.
The results of the anti smoking law can already be looked at in Scotland where cigarettes are already not allowed in the bingo parlours. Profits have dropped and the industry is absolutely struggling for to stay alive. But where have all the players gone? Certainly they have not given up on this enduring game?
The answer is on the net. People know that they can enjoy bingo using their computer whilst enjoying a drink and cigarette and still have a chance at big cash rewards. This is a recent development and has happened almost perfectly with the ban on cigarettes.
Of course wagering on on the internet can never replace the collective portion of heading over to the bingo parlor, but for a group of men and women the rules have left a good many bingo enthusiasts with no alternative.
