Web Casinos vs. Betting on Bingo Bingo in Oklahoma

An abundance has been written in the press recently concerning the bingo industry being hit as a consequence of the anti smoking law in the UK. Things have grown so bad that in Scotland the Bingo industry has asked for massive tax breaks to help keep the businesses alive. However can the net adaptation of this traditional game offer a lifeline, or might it in no way compare to its land based peer?

Bingo has been an enduring game normally enjoyed by the "blue haired" generation. For all that the game recently had undergone a recent resurgence in appeal with younger people deciding to go to the bingo halls in place of the bars on a Saturday night. All this is about to be reversed with the enforcement of the cigarette ban throughout United Kingdom.

No longer will gamblers be able to smoke while marking numbers. From the summer of ‘07 all public locations will not be allowed to permit smoking in their venues and this includes Bingo parlours, which are possibly the most common areas where players enjoy smoking.

The effects of the anti cigarette law can already be felt in Scotland where cigarettes are already prohibited in the bingo parlors. Numbers have plunged and the business is literally fighting for its life. But where did all the players go? Obviously they haven’t cast aside this ancient game?

The answer is on the web. Players know that they can play bingo in front of their computer at the same time enjoying a beverage and fag and in the end, enjoy huge cash rewards. This is a recent phenomenon and has timed itself bordering on perfect with the anti cigarette law.

Of course gambling on on the net is unlikely to replace the social part of going over to the bingo hall, but for a demographic of people the governing edicts have left a number of bingo players with little choice.
